Bridal Makeup Artists in Karachi: Who’s the Best? Top 5 Choices to Consider

Pakistani bridal makeup is a big deal. Think about it: our weddings are so heavily focused on the bride, from what she’s wearing to her mehndi, jewelry, hair and makeup. All eyes on the bride! So how is one supposed to go about choosing a makeup artist for the big day?

Looking for bridal makeup artists in Karachi while you’re overseas is a huge task considering the city is teeming with bridal salons. I’ve spent countless hours searching mainly on Instagram since that seems to the be hotspot for finding local salons (searching on Google didn’t amount to much since most salons don’t have their own websites and blog articles can become dated).

Natasha Salon by Natasha Ali Lakhani:

Considered one of the top makeup artists in Karachi (and maybe the country?). She has a massive following on social media and is also famously the granddaughter of the one and only Noor Jahan! I do like her overall makeup style which is glowy and effortless (very contemporary) and her personality seems very grounded and calm.

Shamain Salon by Shamain Faruque:

A little online searching led me to Shamain Salon which consistently kept coming up as one of the top bridal salons in Karachi. The founder has even been featured by the BBC where she discusses her philosophy and approach to makeup and faith. I’ve read that the atmosphere in her salon is always very calming as they play Quran recitation, all of which I am down for! And the best part is, they don’t photoshop their photos so you can truly see how smooth their foundation application is and how well they blend out their eyeshadows, it is truly amazing to see that on a platform like Instagram where everyone filters their photos, even makeup artists.

Sara Salon & Spa by Sara Ali:

Another heavy hitter is Sara Salon and Spa who was recently crowned at the HUM TV Social Media Awards in 2020. Their brides consistently look amazing from the makeup, dupatta setting and hair. The salon is headed up by Sara Ali and they seem to have a solid team in place with Erum Ali being one of their notable makeup artists.

Bina Khan Makeup:

I’ve become a huge fan of Ms. Khan since discovering her in my journey to find a makeup artist! She is truly an industry veteran who knows her stuff when it comes to color mixing, color tones and blending.

Maha Sheikh Makeup:

I came across Maha Sheikh on a Facebook group where a few people highly recommended her and I’m so glad I looked into it! She is one of the few makeup artists who seem to run a bridal salon within their home which I found comforting since going into a busy bridal salon can be nerve-wracking.
